Question of the week about Auction Reserves?
Question of the Week comes from Kerry who asks Interstate Auto Auction...I was wondering if you would consider posting the reserves on cars that do not sell.
thank you
kerry
Answer: Wholesale is usually 50% of the kelly blue book retial price in your auctions zip code. We post online the KBB Retail Price for you every week at the bottom on all our cars. If the KBB price is $7,000 then you should expect it to sell for around $3,000-$4,000! Thats Wholesale Folks!
Given the fact that we are a Auction House and not a Dealership we do not actually own the cars for auction. The Charities, Donations, people in the public, dealerships, repossesion companies, banks ect..own the cars and need to sell them for cheap prices. A person who represents these companies will come in personally and stand along side with the auctioneer. Once the bidding stops the Auctioneer will turn to the owner and ask if it is ok to accept the bid. If the Company agrees it will be sold! The Auction simply provides a medium to Auction off Cars not buy and sell cars like a dealership would.
We are the middle person. We do not know what the reserves are. However, doing this for almost 10 years gives us a little insight into what the reserve can be. We know if you bid around 50% of the blue book price you should win the car.

Interstate Auto Auction Becomes a Google Favorite Place 2010!
Interstate Auto Auction in Salem NH is named a Google Favorite Place 2010! Be Sure to look for the Google Favorite Place Logo and QR bar code on our doors when you stop in!
Growing into The Largest Public Car Auction in New England has been a fun ride. It was nearly 10 years when we first opened our doors to the Public with a modest one night a week Auction held in Salem New Hampshire. Fast Forward to today and you can see that we have ballooned into a Huge Two Auctions per week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) Facility with over 300 cars available to be bid on not just in Salem NH, but as well as Online! And working for a great company like Interstate has been very rewarding. Becuase we offer test drives all day from 9am-5pm every Wednesday customers have a unique oppertunity to check the car before they even bid on it! We also have 30% of our bidders purchasing cars via online. The best part is not only that we don't require special dealer licenses, but we also do not take any money upfront to bid in person or to participate in the Auction online or in person.
Today we just recived a letter from Google Head Quarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View California congratulating Interstate Auto Auction on being one of the most popular places for people to go in the U.S.
The Idea is in the future you can take your smart phone and scan the bar code and it will bring up all kinds of information about the buisness that will be helpful! We love it and hope you will too!
Per Google "We've identified over 100,000 businesses in the U.S. as "Favorite Places on Google" based on Google users' interaction with local business listings. Each business is receiving a window decal with a unique QR code that you scan with your phone to read reviews, star the business as your own favorite and more."
We are a Google Favorite Place 2010!!!

1999 Chevy Silverado Wholesale Price!
Looking for a good running Truck? This 1999 Chevy Silverado will sell for a Wholesale Price! Perfect for anyone who is looking for a work truck. Does have some rust on back passenger wheel well (shown in pic). Other than that, a good running 'green light' vehicle. Vin#: 1GCEK14V2XE182177
